Arriving on Friday - who is getting it?

Re: Splinter Cell Conviction
Nope! Sorry to burst your bubble man, but Splinter Cell has never really appealed to me, and the feedback on the demo was so underwhelming I'm definitely skipping it. I would quite like to get a beta invite for Ghost Recon: Future Soldier, though...

Im definately getting it. Any game that lets you shove a mans head through a urinal gets my vote.

Re: Splinter Cell Conviction
From what I've played I didn't enjoy it as much as I thought, although that could change with co-op, innit!

Not sure I'm going to bother buying this, will probably just rent it at some point. From what I have read the campaign only lasts about 5 hours on realistic difficulty.

MW2 campaign only lasted 5 hours tops. I may pick this up at some stage if my brother doesn't

I'm def going to play it, just not going to buy it. I can't keep spending money out on style over substance like MW2.

Re: Splinter Cell Conviction
Am tempted by a rental, but like Defmash, I ain't buying. Even the early screenshots and videos didn't really do it for me, though, so when people started slating the demo, this was instantly relegated to the bottom of my "must have" list.

Hmmm Still not sure about this game ?
Some of the levels are fantastic and some are just silly, there are some lovely touches in the game though but im not convinced about the Upgrade your weapon 1/2 way through a level and why has my pistol got Infinate Ammo, the thing i used to love about Splinter cell was "shall i save the ammo and go for a stealth kill or just put a 9mm shot through his head " now i can hammer away all night at the enemies with the pistol and not have to worry about ammo
At least there are no buggs so far unlike JC2
Worth getting for the Flashback level ( not saying anymore incase i spoil it)and the GR:FS Beta hope co-ops good
ill give it 7/10 Dante's inferno Grade

Have to admit - i have to agree - came away going WTF why does my pistol just never run out of bullets!
Its close to being a great game but missing something -some bits are just stupid and annoying - the chopper bit - was that needed? It didnt really add anything.
dont get me started on the laser grids -did my head in and once you sussed it was pish!

Re: Splinter Cell Conviction
I have to say, this is my game of the year so far. Weird seeing as how I hated the demo, but then I still don't think they picked the best level to showcase things.
Finished the campaign, which I really loved; cinematic in all the right places, plus I like to play the way I want to play, so Robert's your mother's brother on that respect too.
Me and Gabe finished co-op last night, and I can't wait to start it all over again. So many wow moments, mostly involving last minute rescues, elbowing terrorists in the throat so that the other can sit up and remove said terrorist's skull with 'well-placed-pistol-shot' type fandango.
Deniable Ops are superb. Revelling in Hunter mode. I am not stealthing, I AM stealth! Last Stand is total fun, mark and execute really coming into its own. Infiltration is precisely where it's at though in my book. Patience and skill are the order of the day (along with the Minestrone), and I am currently luxuriating in the terrifying of terrorists. Let's see how they like it.
It is silly in places. I agree that upgrading a gun mid-level isn't exactly realistic, but it is cool. In fact it's cool as fuck.
So far, my game of the year. Itching to play it every day, although that might be the herpes...

I'm slowly getting the urge to buy this. Might wait until it's cheap and pick up 2 copies, one for me and one for me mate, so we can play some co-op stealth shenanigans.
