As far as chaotic sandbox fun goes, I'm not sure I've played a better game than Crackdown. I was soon sorry I traded it, and I've nearly re-bought it on several occasions (now, though, I'll wait for this sequel). It's mental, cartoon fun. If this is as good as the first, I'll be very pleased

4 player co-op much? IT WILL BE FUN!
Re: Crackdown 2
I think the mental cartoon fun bit that you just said Billy and the $ PLAYER CO-OP!!! will clinch it for me

Cannot wait for Crackdown 2, the first game is one of my all time favourites. There are not many other games out there that reward experimentation as much as Crackdown. One small bummer with the sequel is that they've got rid if the morphing cars

Welcome, Mash! Yeah, I loved the morphing cars. But still... that "machine gun lorry of death" from the developer diary looked like a pretty good trade

It's featured in the developers' diary thing (you can download the video from the marketplace). The gameplay footage shows an armoured truck with all the four players on board. One drives, while the others all have ridiculous weapons and are on the back. It looks AMAZING!
If you've ever seen the Death Race remake with Jason Statham, it looks like the juggernaut.

Re: Crackdown 2
Ignore that, i just saw the release date down as the 9th of July Saw the dev diary too - it looks great, ok the graphics aren't ground breaking but the game play looks wicked and it has 2 things that i need in a game - co-op and most importantly explosions, lots and lots of explosions

Sure, the graphics aren't ground-breaking, but I think you'll be pleasantly surprised when you see them on an HD telly. They're cel-shaded, in the same way as Borderlands, which I also think is glorious to look at (but also appeals to a very specific aesthetic).

Well it won't look exactly like Borderlands, obviously (Borderlands is an FPS, for starters), but it's that style

Re: Crackdown 2
Here's my plan: in May, I'm going to buy Skate 3 and maybe Lost Planet 2. Then I'm going to get Alan Wake to keep me busy in June. Then I'm going to get Crackdown 2 in July. Before you know it, we'll be in August, and starting the rush towards the pre-Crimbo madness! We'll be in 2011 before you know it, and then I'll be waiting anxiously for Gears 3...

No I meant... with the co-op... and the multiple explosions... never mind. I automatically assume everyone knows what's going on in every thread. It's called senility

I understood your cross-thread, joke, mate. Have a patronising chuckle on Fatboy Geezer's behalf.Audiojoe wrote:
